Just PCSed/moved here and waiting to move into home. Hotel Atlantis laundry was too small and took WAY too long. This laundry mat is right across from Kaiserslautern high school. Follow GPS because some gates to Vogelweh are outbound only. Laundry mat is American style. Change machines (takes $1, $5, $10, $20) are there with vending machine that take card. Bathroom inside. LARGE washers and dryers. $2.50 washers and .25cents gives you 6 mins for dryers. Detergent and dryer sheets vending machines as well. Decent cleanliness. ATM, Burger King, subway, shoppette w pizza, commissary right down the street. Havent been to other laundry mats. Almost tried the Eco express on Eisenbahnstra 70 but it was too packed and glad it was because this laundry mat is so much better. Sponsors need to advertise the bare necessities like how/where to do laundry
Contrary to the name, this is not on Vogelweh Housing, it is in Pulaski/Kapun, directly across from Kaiserslautern High School. It took forever for me to find...google maps thinks it is on Vogelweh and Waze thinks its past the police station towards the Kapun side of base...neither are true. As far as a laundromat goes its fine....but 6 minutes for .25 seems steep to me.
This place is a dump! The building is falling apart, the bathroom is always dirty and smells. Washers are often broken with stagnant water sitting in them and the quarter dispenser is generally out of quarters on the weekends. This place needs a complete overall or at least someone to properly maintain this eye sore.
I was able to do 6 loads of laundry in a little over an hour, they have a lot of machines and they are full to extra large American sized washers and dryers.
